About Mifflin Tavern
Mifflin Tavern has opened on the former site of Doc’s Union Pub, the bar owned by Electricians Local 98 boss John Dougherty at Second and Mifflin Streets in Pennsport. The sale was completed in December.
They’ve spruced up the joint on both floors, subbing a white granite bar, new hardwood floors, 10 beer taps with crafts and domestics, and what they’re calling a gastropub menu from chef Harry Burns (Reuben spring rolls and cheesesteak pierogis, notably).
Unlike a lot of bars and restaurants that require extensive work behind the scenes, this place was a dream, Giordano said.
Especially the electrical system.
